What is E.C.?
E.C. is an innovative review born from the idea of our English teacher to improve and develop language and ICT skills while promoting the development of proactive behaviour in the students.
We are attending the third year of high school ETTORE CONTI, LICEO SCIENZE APPLICATE. One day our English teacher decided we would be able create a review and to act as a real editorial staff. It would have been amazing! We were asked to form teams. Since then, we have a chief redactor responsible for the group, even though everybody has to contribute in writing a little part of the article or must search for news or even take photos personally.
When the articles were almost ready, we were taken to the info lab do upload the material before editing and publishing.
This is going to be only the first number, we hope to go on and you will always find different sections: economic, literature, food, mates letters, love affairs, music...
We are very proud of our job and we hope you will enjoy!

A good boy?
His complete name was Andres Escobar Saldarriaga. He was born in Medellin on 13rd March, 1967. He was a Colombian soccer player. During the world cup match against the United States he scored an own goal and he allowed the other team to won for 2-1. When Escobar turned back to his town, he was killed in a parking of a pub by an ex bodyguard on 2nd July, 1994. One possible reason for the murder was the huge loss of money that illegal betting circles suffered when he scored the own goal. The murderer was initially sentenced to 43 years in prison, then the sentence was reduced to 26 years. Now Andres Escobar rests in his hometown at the cemetery of San Pietro.

Inflation nowadays
In this article we are going to talk about the topic of inflation and its consequences in our country. Inflation is a problem that has been developing since the pandemic broke out in 2020 and it continues to become increasingly severe with the onset of wars in Russia and the Holy Land.
Before talking about it extensively, it is important to understand
what we mean when we refer to the word "inflation".
It occurs when there is an increase in prices throughout the commercial world.
Therefore today we can buy fewer things with the same amount of money than the previous period.
This phenomenon leads to the reduction of the value of the money.
In the next pages we will analyze the economic data in the three main sectors i.d. oil, wages and food in which the Italian economy has been mainly influenced by inflation.

PETROL AND CONSEQUENCES
The increase in the price of oil is one of the main factors influencing the
cost of gasoline in Italy. Inflation can cause a general increase in prices, including
crude oil. When the price of oil rises, oil companies face higher production costs.
Thus the overfall costs of refining and distribution are then passed on to the final
price of gasoline for Italian consumers.
Furthermore, inflation can
influence the exchange rate of the national currency, too
against the US dollar, which is considered the reference currency for oil trade. If the
Italian currency devalues against the dollar, the costs of oil imports increase further,
as oil is generally priced in dollars. This combined effect of rising oil prices and
currency devaluation can contribute to a significant increase in the cost of gasoline
in Italy.
